HOW TO READ THE CARDS

Evidence first.

This is a snapshot of cited public evidence and labelled campaign confirmations. It does not predict an MP’s next vote.

Public support for hospitality

The headline total counts MPs assessed as “For hospitality” in the full review dated 11 October 2026. An attributable public statement, proposal, action or recorded vote must support hospitality businesses, sector viability, growth or sector employment. Local promotion is weaker evidence than a policy commitment. This broader measure is separate from the VAT categories below.

Supports lower VAT
An explicit cut, an exemption proposal, a specific supporting party policy or a labelled Hospitality Voices confirmation. The card says which. Christopher Chope’s exemption proposal is distinct from a reduced percentage rate.
Opposes a cut
Requires explicit evidence against a hospitality VAT reduction. None is established in the current research.
Conditional / undecided
A qualified or uncommitted position, such as support subject to costing. Read the condition on the card.
No public position found
The review did not establish a clear personal position or one of the party commitments added in this update. Silence, a missing EDM signature and a broad parliamentary vote are not treated as opposition.

Individual positions and the MP roster come from the 11 October 2026 workbook review. The 13 October update adds SNP and Plaid party evidence and Chope’s Bill. Jessica Toale’s support was added from a Hospitality Voices confirmation on 13 October, with a public source pending. The APPG review on 13 October adds eight evidenced supporters, including Tonia Antoniazzi’s historical 2023 pledge for lower VAT for pubs. Other party policies have not been comprehensively re-reviewed in this update. A commitment to the precise 13% SME proposal is not inferred.

APPG involvement and the scope of support

The filter covers 44 MPs named in this Parliament’s published Hospitality and Tourism APPG records: officers, attendees, apologies and represented offices. It is not a certified full current membership roll. APPG involvement alone does not establish support for a VAT cut.

Historical pledges and limited proposals are dated and described on cards. Backing the expired summer 2026 family relief scheme does not establish support for a broad ongoing hospitality VAT reduction. Reported letter signatures are labelled as reports, with publication dates.
